Start Date and Funding: I am seeking a candidate to join our research team by September 2024. This is a funded position, and the application deadline is June 1, 2024.
Project Details
The project aims to develop novel earth-based 3D printable materials and determine pathways for efficient carbon sequestration in 3D-printed components. The student will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary team and get hands-on experience developing materials for a construction-scale 3D printer.
This project will also focus on understanding the fundamental physicochemical mechanisms driving carbon sequestration into earth-based materials. The results of this study will play a key role in developing scalable and sustainable infrastructure materials.
Required Qualifications
• Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., infrastructure materials and Geotechnical engineering).
• Experience with characterization methods such as X-Ray Diffraction, Thermogravimetrican alysis, and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a passion for sustainable development.
Desired Skills
• Some experience with 3D printing
• Knowledge of engineering characterization methods (e.g., strength and durability tests)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills Preferred
• Candidates currently residing in the United States will be given preference.
