Details : Dr. ChungHyuk Lee is seeking three (3) talented and highly motivated PhD students to join his team, the Fluids and Electrochemical Engineering Laboratory (www.chunghyuklee.com) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), starting January 2025. The successful candidate will study and develop novel experimental approaches for recycling precious group metals from end- of-life fuel cell membrane electrode assemblies and catalytic converters.

The following list summarizes the requirements, expectations, and desired experiences:

1) The applicant has completed or is close to completion of their Master's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, material science, mechanical engineering, or any related discipline.

2) The applicant is experienced in designing and performing experiments in a laboratory setting, preferably related to electrochemical engineering (e.g., electrochemical characterization techniques, and synthesizing materials for fuel cells or related systems).

3) The applicant is strongly motivated to address challenges related to climate change and sustainability.

4) The applicant is capable of solving problems independently and is an excellent communicator (oral and technical writing).
