PhD Opportunity in the University of Guelph, Canada

PhD Admission : The University of Guelph Canada is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for a PhD position to join our research team led by Dr. Prasad Daggupati. Evaluating the Impacts of Best Management Practices on Soil Health, Water Quality, and GHG Emissions. The successful candidate will work on a project aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of Best Management Practices (BMPs) in mitigating soil erosion, improving water quality, and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in agricultural landscapes, with a focus on Ontario.

Responsibilities :

Conduct field monitoring to assess the effectiveness of BMPs in mitigating soil erosion and improving water quality. Develop and validate modeling frameworks to simulate soil health indicators, GHG emissions, and water quality ddynamics Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure inclusive research practices. Contribute to the development of a web-based framework guiding policymakers and farmers in implementing environmentally friendly BMPs.

Qualifications :

1) A master's degree in agricultural engineering, hydrology, environmental science, or a closely related field. Experience with fieldwork, data collection, and analysis. Proficiency in modeling software (e.g., SWAT, AnnAGNPS) and programming languages (e.g. Python, R).

2) Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary research team.
