Position Description

A Ph.D. position in Civil and Environmental Engineering focused on Construction Engineering Management at Wayne State University (WSU) is available starting in the Fall of 2024.

The ideal candidate should have a master's degree in civil engineering or related fields.

The selected candidate will work with Dr. Hyun Koo on interdisciplinary research related to risk management and technology applications in adaptive reuse of buildings and design clash management in building information modeling. It is preferred to have relevant research experience in the above-mentioned topics, knowledge of building information modeling, machine learning, VR, qualitative and statistical analysis skills, and software skills including Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Navisworks.

Also, ideal candidates should be highly motivated and passionate about research and have good communication skills in English. A graduate assistantship is available for this position.
