PhD Admission: The Ph.D. in Physics program at Khalifa University supports the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 plan through the provision of internationally excellent education and student experience in physics, producing highly skilled scientists. The program aims to produce graduates who can conduct independent research in physics at the highest levels of originality and quality. Students will।demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills at the forefront of physics by investigating novel specialist topic problems in innovative research.

This program provides robust and diverse curricula that give students in-depth, up-to-date knowledge at an advanced, state-of-the-art level and the necessary professional skills and competence to plan, direct, conduct, and interpret scientific research. Additionally, the program builds on Khalifa University's internationally leading research activity in science, engineering, and medicine. Students will have access to world-leading experimental and computational laboratories and workshops in the research facilities located on Khalifa University campuses. Graduates of the program will be equipped with a range of advanced knowledge and skills at the forefront of physics to work to the highest professional and ethical standards and contribute to their academic and professional careers.

As part of the program, students must complete a dissertation that involves creative, research-oriented work within the field of physics, under direct supervision of a faculty member from the physics department. The research conducted at the physics department covers a wide range of topics, including optics and photonics, astrophysics/astroparticle physics, medical physics, soft matter/materials physics.

The Ph.D. positions are funded by different Ph.D. scholarships separated in different Tiers. The highest Tier provides a basic monthly stipend of 20,000 AED (-5,400 USD) and an additional monthly allowance of 20,000 AED. Requirements

A minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent for Bachelor's to Ph.D. direct admission.

Or a minimum CGPA of 3.25 out of 4.0 or equivalent for Master's to Ph.D. admission.

iBT TOEFL score of 91, IELTS score of 6.5, or 1550 EmSAT English score,

A minimum quantitative score of 150 in the general Graduate Record Examination (GRE). A minimum of two referee recommendations (provided via an online form).

Statement of purpose (500-1.000 words).

Research statement (500-1,000 words).
